Regional Swim Championships

Congratulations to all the WAVE athletes participating in the Regional Swim Championships this past weekend. This was WAVE’s most successful outing so far: 11 athletes qualified in the 12U category (our senior qualifiers were playing polo in Markham); 7 top 3 finishes; countless top 8 finishes; and, WAVE now has 3 qualifiers for Festivals in two weeks!

If only I could get them to keep warm and put on a parka or something…anything…

I will post a full recap tomorrow. So many personal bests and club records my head is spinning.

All information regarding the Petawawa Cabin Fever meet is posted to the website (LINK). I was with the Petawawa Head Coach all weekend and they are looking forward to hosting us and there was no mention of any possible cancellation.

If you are in the 100 FR, please note that it is in the morning session. We’ll try to grab lunch as a team for all those making the early trip.

Please be on deck at 8:30 AM for the morning session and 11:45 AM for the afternoon session. Lisa will send out an itinerary by the end of the week.

At the last meet in Petawawa there was a QR code for the heat sheets. Once I get this from our hosts, I will post that to the site as well.

If you have questions about swim meets, or any WAVE event, please be sure to check the FAQs (LINK). If you can’t find an answer please email Lisa and we’ll see if we can include it in the FAQ.

Forest City Polo Tournament

A big thank you to all the families that committed to make the long trip to London this coming weekend. It should be a great development tournament for our young teams. Coaches Sam and Griffin will be there to provide guidance. Look for the schedule and other details soon!

Water Polo – A renewed commitment

The senior water polo coaching staff have requested that our JWA and JWB find a new commitment to legs. This means lots of whipkick and eggbeater. In order for an athlete to succeed in water polo they must possess rock solid eggbeater by the time they reach 13U. This is a requirement in order to perform the drills at the 13U level. Please familiarize yourself and your athlete with the Progression and Development guidelines (PDF).

Goulburn Sea Hawks meet

The entries will be posted this week. Please confirm that your athlete is entered once you see the post.

Life is better in the water,

Coach Fraser
