Lake on The Mountain We have 35 swimmers going to Belleville on June 24th and 25th. Thank you for your commitment. It's not too late to enter if you've had a change of heart -- all athletes registered with Swim Canada can attend. Here are the entries for the swim meet. The practice schedule will be announced tomorrow.
Waupous Cidery -- One of the most beautiful spots you'll ever go We have room for 8 more athletes to attend the Belleville Meet, June 24th and 25th for a total of 40 Capital Wave swimmers!!!! The majority of swim meets are invitationals, which means that all athletes can attend as long as they are insured with Swim Canada. So if you have expressed interest in attending the meet, your athletes will be entered in events deemed suitable by Coach Fraser. This is the normal process for swimming. I will reach out separately to those families who [...]
Here is the hotel information for the upcoming swim meet in Belleville on June 24th and 25th. We are in peak Wedding Season so hotel prices are inflated due to proximity to Prince Edward County. Take advantage of the fact that the swim meet ends in the early afternoon and head into The County. Go to Waupoos, Lake on the Mountain and be awestruck; go for a swim at North Beach; and, then take the free ferry across to Bath and head to the Tyendinaga Caves. It's been awhile since the last update. Power outages will do that. WAVE had a great time in the pool this past weekend. We found great success at our very first Regionals Swim Meet and as well as at the Pamplemousse Tournament in Montreal. Details about the Regionals swim meet can be found here. Details from Montreal are coming soon. Next year, I am planning on having more WAVE swimmers qualify for Regionals. As our athletes get stronger, our club representation at these meets will as well. Belleville The meet at Belleville on June 24 and [...]
What a meet for our Regional swimmers. Everyone set new best times and also scored points for their club. Despite our small numbers we put up some impressive performances with the medals and the ribbons to prove it. Highlights from Day 3 include: Stanley finishing strong to capture Bronze in the 100M BR. Stanley then went on to take 2.6 seconds off his 100 FR. Yassin took 1.5 seconds off his 100M FR Skawennahawi took 1.65 seconds off her 100 FR Kyrie continued to wow the crowd as the fastest 8 year old in the [...]
After this weekend's performances at Regionals, we have some new club swim records for long course. See the new records here. Congratulations to all.
Another great day at the pool for WAVE. Sam captured 7th in the 50 BK and took over 10 seconds off his time. Yassin also performed well in the BK and took 3 seconds off his time. Yassin then went on to take 3 seconds off his FR -- we'll make a swimmer out of you Yassin! The 10U boys blasted down the pool in the 50 FR and got some BIG time improvements. Kyrie took over 2 seconds off and broke 40 seconds with a 39.87, Sam took almost 8 seconds off with a 41. [...]
