Hello all, The Riverkeeper Open Water Swim is back for 2022. We are looking for volunteers to help with this event. We are in need of lifeguards, paddlers and volunteers on the ground. Lifeguards will be paid $75.00 or if a high school student we will sign off on volunteer hours that can go towards their high school requirement. The high school student can decide if they would like to be paid or have the volunteer hours - they cannot have both. The Ottawa RiverKeeper race is a 4KM/1.5 KM open water swim that helps raise money to keep the Ottawa River a healthy body of water for all to enjoy. The race begins and ends at the Lac Deschênes Sailing Club, Rangeview Avenue, Nepean. This year's race is on August 14. Registration is at the Lac Deschênes Sailing Club at 6:30 AM. Jason Plomp, the President of our club, received the news today that the Capital Wave Swim Club has been awarded Full Membership status from Swim Ontario. Our probationary period ends on August 15th.
