The first step is for your athlete to have a discussion with their coach, especially if that athlete is in a competitive program.

If it concerns a decision made at a water polo tournament or a swim meet, you must wait 48 hours after the event to expect a response. Coaches will not address your concern until that time has passed.

The club’s Parent Liaison position has been created to help support the coaches in terms of increasing communication within the club. When you and your athlete have questions here is the process we encourage:

  • Have your athlete request a meeting with their coaches – The Rule of Two will always be applied
  • If your athlete is still unsure of what was said in the meeting, have them discuss it with you and then you can send questions and possible solutions to the Parent Liaison at  parent.concerns@ottawawaterpolo.com
  • If you have concerns directly related to coaches, Kim Darling the club president should be your point of contact. She can be reached at president@capitalwave.ca
