As WAVE keeps expanding the coaching staff does as well.

Rodrigo and I are happy to introduce Enmanuel Manzanilla who will be helping the club this summer with the swim sessions in the morning.

Enmanuel will shadow Coach Fraser and assist the private sessions as well. He is a well seasoned coach who always displays a dedication to the success of his athletes. Enmanuel is also an experienced coach when it comes to delivering one-on-one private sessions.

I will let Enmanuel introduce himself in his own words –

My name is Enmanuel Manzanilla, with over 15 years of coaching experience, I began my career in Venezuela, working with competitive kids aged 8 to 13. Since 2015, I have been coaching in Canada, working with both masters and youth swimmers, including tenures at ROC’S and Nepean Kanata Barracudas (NKB). Currently, I coach at the Nepean Master Swimming Club, where my team recently placed 5th at the Canadian Master Nationals, and one swimmer broke four Canadian records. I am passionate about fostering excellence, especially in hard-working, mentally strong athletes. As an active competitor in pool and open water swimming, I bring a deep personal connection to the sport and a commitment to developing my swimmers’ full potential. My coaching philosophy centers on being actively engaged on deck, relentlessly seeking excellence from my swimmers. I have a particular affinity for working with athletes who are not only hard workers but also possess a strong mental fortitude for the sport. These attributes are essential for achieving success in swimming, and I strive to instill these qualities in all my swimmers.
