Congratulations to all the WAVE athletes that participated in the short course Regional Championships at the start of February.

This turned out to be one of WAVE’s most successful outings as WAVE secured 4th place in the 12U category.

Thanks to Kai for crunching the numbers.

This is quite the accomplishment for our club considering that almost half of our team was without swim training due to the Ottawa U pool closure. Now that Ottawa U is open and the Sprint Sessions have started we’ll be sure to correct that.

A renewed focus on our starts and turns will have to be put in place if we are to crack the top three in the years to come – and that’s certainly the goal. Our younger swimmers have certainly improved in those areas, especially the dives and the accompanying dolphin kicks but our older swimmers need a bit of a refresher.

The best part of the meet was watching our athletes never give up. It’s becoming a trademark of our swimmers to have strong last laps, digger deeper than the other team to finish hard. It’s great to see and it’s going to be great to build off this recent success as our club continues to evolve.

And now on to Festivals for Yana, Nicole and Adrien!
